DUBAI’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is set to hold its 79th online auction for distinctive number plates, offering 350 exclusive options for private vehicles, classic cars, and motorcycles.

The selection features three, four, and five-digit combinations considered highly desirable by collectors and enthusiasts.

Registration for the auction opens on Monday, 19 May 2025, and will remain active for five days. The online bidding will go live on Monday, 26 May 2025.

Plate categories

The auction includes number plates bearing codes ranging from H to Z — specifically H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O, P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, W, X, Y, and Z. These combinations are expected to attract attention from bidders seeking unique identifiers or status symbols. All 350 plates fall under exclusive categories and are tailored for different vehicle types.

Registration & requirements

To participate, bidders must possess a valid traffic file registered in the Emirate of Dubai. A non-refundable participation fee of Dh120 is required, in addition to a Dh5,000 security cheque made payable to the RTA. Registration and payment can be completed either online or in person at Customer Happiness Centres located in Umm Ramool, Al Barsha, and Deira.

Payment details

All sales from the auction are subject to a 5% Value Added Tax (VAT). Successful bidders must settle payments within ten working days of the auction's closing. Accepted payment methods include cash (up to Dh50,000), certified cheque, or credit card – with transactions processed through authorised service provider centres or Customer Happiness Centres, as well as the RTA website.
